WHAT: The Annual Neshoba Auction is one of the year’s BIGGEST Parties (and important fundraiser)!  There will be delicious food and drink, a silent auction of incredible items, a live auction of the cream of the crop items, and contests for the creative.

WHO: All members and friends of Neshoba are invited to an evening of fun, food, conversation, & fundraising.

WHEN & WHERE: Saturday, February 27, at Neshoba (but you won’t recognize the place).  Doors open and silent auction begins at 6:00 p.m.  Live auction begins at 7:00 p.m.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:

  • WE NEED AUCTION ITEMS that will bring $$ for Neshoba.  We never know exactly what will bring the high bids – some examples of past $ producing items include trips to cool places, theme-based dinners, artwork by Neshoba members. (Contact Carolyn Clements for details or to donate:  crclements@earthlink.net).
  • WE NEED DELICIOUS FOOD, both savory and sweet finger fare, homemade or store bought.(Contact Yvonne Barnard for details: Yvonne.Barnard@STJUDE.ORG)
  • WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to solicit items, set up the silent auction, decorate, organize the night’s activities, help with ticket sales, bid catching and data entry, and, of course, for the clean-up team. (Contact Dorothy Norris-Tirrell for details:  dnrrstrr@memphis.edu)
  • SPECIAL REQUEST: Do you have luau themed decorations that we can borrow?  (Contact Tracy Love-Silver immediately: Tracy@PhilanthropyTN.com )

PLAN AHEAD: Wear your favorite Hawaii shirt and outrageous flip-flops, muumuu, or grass skirt (G- rated, please); practice your hula dance routine, and come prepared for fun!

September 5th - Into the Wilderness with Backpack and Moral Compass, Reverend Cynthia Prescott

The economic downturn affected all Unitarian Universalists as it did everyone else. We’ve endured the same loses; but as the dust settles, and life starts getting back to “normal” (whatever that is) we’re freer than ever to choose the future we say we’ve always wanted – one in which human values rise to the top of the priority list.
